Antwerp has been known as the Diamond Centre of the World for centuries. So it is hardly surprising that this city is home to the largest Diamond Museum in the world.
It is an 'image and sound' museum.
Besides looking and listening, you actually find yourself immersed in the fascinating world of this magnificent little stone.
Many surprises await the visitor in the treasure chambers whose splendid collections of jewellery provide a picture of diamond jewellery from the 16th century through to the present day (e.g. replica of the British Crown Jewels containing two of the world's largest diamonds: the Koh-I-Noor and the Cullinan i), including contemporary diamond creations.

DiamondLAND is a 1000m2 diamond showroom, in fact it is the only diamond showroom in Belgium! Visitors can buy their diamond engagement rings or loose diamonds directly at the source. At the same time they can see diamond polishers, setters and a goldsmith at work. Visitors are welcomed in their own languages and during a 20 minute guided tour, they are made familiar with cleaving, sawing, polishing and the international rules for grading diamonds, treating subjects like carat, colour, cut and clarity .
They can buy certified diamonds, loose diamonds and diamond jewellery. Visitors can choose a diamond and see for themselves how their diamond is being mounted into an exquisite piece of jewellery. The mounting can usually be done in a few hours.
